I have been working on a new pattern for an owl motif granny square afghan. This project seems to be taking me longer than usual but I have been working on it just a little at a time. Life has just been so busy lately!
The plan is for the afghan to have 20 granny squares, 10 will have the owl motif. The alternating granny squares are made with matching colors.
The squares are going to be joined using a SC for all pieces, like this:
Fixing up the owls is taking some time..... each owl needs two eyes, with buttons sewn on, a beak and feet. The sewing is time consuming but the end result is always worth it!
The entire piece will have at least 4 rows of trim added.... And I think I will make the final row frilly, even though this is a unisex colored blanket.
This pattern will be available in my store and from Craftsy. I also plan to have a FREE GIVEAWAY for my Facebook fans. The blanket I am currently making while designing the pattern will be given away for free. So, stop by my fanpage and click on like so you can enter the contest when posted!
